'Women for Emer Costello' Event

Today, Monday 19th May at 11.00 am in Buswells Hotel, Kildare Street, Dublin 2, Senator Ivana Bacik is hosting a ‘Women for Emer Costello’ press conference.

The prominent women confirmed to attend the event on Monday include women from academia, the arts, journalism, music, theatre and politics. Those in attendance will include Catherine McGuinness, Senator Jillian Van Turnhout, Denise Charlton, Sally Anne Kinahan, musician Mary Coughlan, former Senator Mary Henry, singer Mary Coughlan, artist Margaret Corcoran, barrister Muireann Noonan, academics Dr. Mary McAuliffe and Dr. Mary Corcoran; and plenty of others. Minister Joan Burton TD and Party Chairperson Loraine Mulligan will be speaking at the event.

Speaking about the event, Senator Bacik said:

“I am delighted that so many women from different backgrounds will be coming together this morning to express their support for Emer Costello MEP. Emer is an outstanding candidate for Dublin in the European elections, who has always promoted women’s rights and equality issues, and has a strong track record on social inclusion.

“Many other women who can’t be here this morning, such as Independent Senator Katherine Zappone, have expressed their support for Emer’s candidacy for Europe.”
